Somersault Out Of Your Comfort Zone!

Once we become comfortable in our daily and sometimes mundane routines, doing anything different can sometimes be uncomfortable and even scary. So, we continue to do the same things day in and day out to avoid stress and taking risks. We may think we enjoy our robotic (yes I said it) way of life, but there is so much more out there. Sometimes we just need to step our toe a little into the water to realize the wondrous opportunities that lie ahead.

Why is it important to get out of our comfort zone?

It is freaking rewarding, that's why!

It is rewarding to try new things. But you don't feel this until you've actually done it. One time I was in Las Vegas, scared to death to try a ride on top of the Stratosphere. Literally, I was shaking and sweating and I just did it. OMG! I can not describe in words the way I felt. I was on cloud nine! I was so proud of myself, wanted to go again, and was inspired to do other new and exciting things.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying you should be out of your comfort zone at all times. Sometimes we need that safe place and it's perfectly ok and natural to want to drop in from time to time. I'm just saying to get out of your comfort zone occasionally. This way you have the opportunity to experience all life has to offer and you don't become complacent. It's always nice to have something to look forward to, but if you're too afraid because you have become stuck in a rut, then it won't be quite as exciting. If you become used to stepping outside of your comfort zone, then it's not quite as scary. Practice makes perfect.

How can you get out of your comfort zone?

The possibilities are endless!

You can try something itty bitty to ginormous...whatever resonates with you.

Here are some things to try:

* Taking a new route to work and taking notice of the scenery

* Going on a vacation to someplace new

* Trying a new workout or exercise

* Trying meditation

* Taking a class to learn something new

* Spending the day with no plans

* Making new friends

* Trying a new restaurant

* Going out to eat by yourself

* Playing a new game

* Trying a new hobby

* Getting out in nature

* Pursuing a personal development course

All of these ideas have one thing in common, INVESTING IN YOU. This investment can be monetary or completely free, whatever floats your boat. But please, take as many opportunities as you can to explore what beautiful things we have access to, if only we open the door.

There are so many more ideas and this is where I'd like to hear from you.

Please leave a comment on my Facebook page at or on this blog at I'd love to hear your ideas for ways to somersault out of your comfort zone or how you've already made this happen.

Big hugs,
